CANDICE LAKE
When I was a young teenager living out in the country in Australia, every month a glossy Sportsgirl catalogue would arrive in the letterbox and I’d sit on my bed pouring over the pages, dreaming about how I could be the girls in the catalogues.  I especially remember the model Erica Baxter (who is now Mrs James Packer) and the image of her jumping on the beach looking so effortlessly cool and sporty, which has stuck with me all this time.
One year for christmas I received a signature striped Sportsgirl towel, and although we lived no where near a beach, I would lay it out in the garden, throw on a pair of sunglasses and dream I was lying on Bondi beach or somewhere in the French Riviera.  So when I received an email recently from the team at Sportsgirl asking me if I would cover my journey through NY fashion week for them, I remembered the girl who would pour over those pages dreaming she could dive in…  and it made me really smile… I of course jumped at the chance!

My new favourite topshop cropped Jamie jeans, lanvin flats, Celine bag, top and my new obsession - these Celine glasses!
Francesca… and that gucci hat | London
So this gorgeous creature is Francesca.  She is wearing my most coveted item of the season… the Gucci Fedora Hat from FW, which of course she is wearing before anybody else can get their hands on it!  What I really love about this look is the masculine undertones to this very vibrant ensemble. Divine.

Rosamund Pike | Hyde Park London
The other day after a rather arduous bike ride, I got lost in the depths of Hyde Park and found myself sun baking in long grasses with no one in sight.   That is until a gorgeous lone girl holding a Frisbee and a coffee mug walked past, sporting a pair of dashing short shorts. Contemplating if I could be bothered taking a picture, I decided that those red shorts against the long green grass were too good to pass up.  I jumped up, declared she was looking lovely and asked if we could shoot some pictures, to which she obliged.  Afterwards, like with all my photos, I did a little interview and asked her all my favourites questions like where can I get those incredible shorts… (Tucker by the way!) And then lastly I asked, “so what is your name?” to which she graciously replied… “Rosamund Pike.”
Well you never know whom you may run into in the depths of Hyde Park.

Marni… pops of colour… 60’s/ 50’s…  big sunglasses… Paris… all things I LOVE!
Barbara Martelo | after Valentino | Paris Couture Fall 2011
Basically I have concluded that if you spend enough time in Paris, coolness will rub off on you… it has to as there is just something about how European women are so effortlessly cool.  I’m dreaming of this Alaia leather skirt.
Shala Monroque | after Valentino | Couture Fall 2011, Paris
Shala is ALWAYS smiling and ALWAYS wearing bright pops of colour.  Even when she is dressed all in black (which is such a rarity!) she somehow seems to radiate warmth.
